While at Sahuaro, Steven earned two varsity letters in football, track and wrestling. He then attended the University of Arizona where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1977 after which he continued on to earn his Juris Doctorate (JD) in 1980 in law.
Upon earning his JD, Steven worked for his father, Bernard Weinstein, as an Associate Attorney until starting his own law firm in 1992. He has served as a judge pro tem at the Pima County Superior Court and as a volunteer lawyer with the Pima County Volunteer Lawyers Program for the past 20 years. He is also licensed to practice law in the state of California.
In 1995, Steven married his wife Joann and in 1997 their son Tyler was born. Their second son Jacob was born in 1999.
Besides being a successful lawyer, Steven is a philanthropist who has served many Tucson organizations such as the Active 20/30 Club (President in 1984), March of Dimes, Cub Scouts of America (Pack Master 2007-2009), and the Young Arizonan Charting a Healthier Tomorrow (President in 1996). Steven also served as committee chairman for the Sahuaro High School Class of 1973 40th Reunion which was held in 2013. Steven enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and off-road motorcycle riding with his family and friends. He is married to Joann and they have two sons, Tyler and Jacob.
