Kristie Van Engelen, Class of 2001, Business Executive

Kristi (Valenzuela) Van EngelenKristie (Valenzuela) Van Engelen was very involved in school activities during her enrollment at Sahuaro. She served as a student class officer and was the Senior Class President. Also listed in her vitae are National Honor Society, Ski Club, Girls Golf (Captain) as well as Girls Tennis. She was nominated and attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference as Sahuaro’s representative.

After graduation, Kristie attended and graduated from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Business with a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing. During her time at the U of
A, Kristie was a Brand Ambassador for Golden Eagle Distributors and spent four seasons in Marketing for the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club Spring Training Operations. Upon leaving the U of A, Ms. Van Engelen worked with the American Junior Golf Association as Tournament Operations Coordinator. In 2005, she was hired by the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Club as a Sales Consultant and was then promoted to an Account Service Executive for Corporate Partnerships. Currently Kristie is employed at CenturyLink as the National Program Strategy Manager.

Kristie has volunteered many hours for the Children First Foundation serving homeless and underprivileged children, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and the United Way. She still serves as an Alumni Ambassador to the University of Arizona’s Sports Marketing Association.
