During his time at Sahuaro, AIan Kaye was busy in numerous organizations and had a near perfect straight A average. He graduated a year early from high school. At the University of Arizona, he went on and earned his BS Degree in Biology Magna Cum Laude, his BS Degree in Psychology Magna Cum Laude and his MD Degree at the UA School of Medicine.
Dr. Kaye was the State of Arizona representative and National Runner-Up for a Rhodes Scholarship. He was the Outstanding Honors Student of the Year and the the Outstanding Graduating Senior int he Liberal Arts College at the University of Arizona. He earned his PhD in Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine. His fellowship in pain was conducted at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, one of the finest interventional pain training sites in the world and he is certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology with a Special Certificate in Pain Management. He served for six years as Chairman and tenured Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and also served as a Professor of Pharmacology. He is one of the most noted anesthesiologists and interventional pain physicians in the world.
He has been inducted into two Anesthesia Halls of Fame and holds many other honors. Among other faculty assignments he is currently in his fifth year as Chairman, tenured Professor, Director of Pain Services, Founder and Director of the LSU Ultra Rapid Detoxification Clinic, and Program Director in the Department of Anesthesiology at LSU School of Medicine.
Dr. Kaye has authored or co-authored more than 14 books, 44 book chapters, 260 articles, 130 abstracts and has also made over 400 presentations. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
Dr. Kaye has had an impact on thousands of people for his efforts as a clinician and in patient safety. He has been married for 19 years to Dr. Kim Kaye and has two children.
