Vicki Saxon, Educator and Business Owner

Vicki Saxon has dedicated her life to education, mentorship, and community. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education, she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education in 1981.

Her teaching career with Tucson Unified School District began in 1973 at Catalina High School and later took her to Palo Verde and Sabino High Schools. Over the years, Vicki taught business, computer programming, and computer applications, leaving a lasting impact on thousands of students. As a Career and Technology Resource Teacher for TUSD, she supervised educators while overseeing a federal Carl Perkins Grant of $2–3 million annually, helping expand opportunities for career and technical education programs.

Vicki also spent five years coordinating a professional internship program, guiding students into real-world experiences that shaped their future careers. Beyond the classroom, she was a tireless supporter of Sahuaro athletics. Known affectionately as “Mrs. Coach” to the track and field teams, Vicki typed up weekly meet results, compiled the end-of-year summaries, and kept score at every home meet—ensuring the program’s traditions of excellence were carefully preserved.

After retirement, Vicki continued her work alongside her husband, Bob, in their family business, Badgeman. Together, they have provided badges, plaques, photo IDs, and promotional items to clients across the United States and Canada.

Vicki’s legacy is also a family one. Her husband, Bob, is a member of the Sahuaro Cougar Hall of Fame, and their daughter, Robin, is a Sahuaro graduate who excelled in volleyball, track, and cheerleading.

Through her dedication to education, her behind-the-scenes support of Cougar athletics, and her lifelong commitment to students and community, Vicki Saxon has earned her place in the Sahuaro Hall of Fame.
