Laurie Beaver San Angelo is a graduate of Sahuaro who was very involved at school during her four years. Laurie was involved with the photography team, a member of the track team, a member of the National Honor Society, a Girls State attendee, editor of the yearbook, a writer for the Sahuaro newspaper, and graduated number 1 in her 1975 graduating class. Laurie attended Baylor University on a scholarship for her undergraduate degree and then attended the University of Arizona where she earned her Law Degree.
Just recently Laurie was appointed to the Pima County Superior Court by Governor Doug Ducey. She has worked as a Commissioner and Judge Pro Tern with the Pima County Superior Court. Her other professional careers include Unit Chief Counsel for the Attorney General’s Office, a Court Commissioner on the Superior Court, and a Judge on the Juvenile Bench. Laurie was one of three Assistant Attorney Generals selected to serve on the Model Court Project which was a groundbreaking project ensuring each family would have timely court hearings whose procedures were eventually adopted as state dependency law.
Laurie is an active member in her community. She is a regular volunteer with the Lawyers for literacy program where she helps elementary students learn to read. She has volunteered for the American Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Courts R Us program. Laurie also volunteers as a member of the Pima County Bar Association.
Laurie is married to Sahuaro graduate Dominic San Angelo and they have four children and four grandchildren.
